Editor settings

IDE settings holds everything about how the editor looks and behaves. Your settings follow your account, so they are the same on any machine you sign in on.

Some settings are marked PRO in the dialog. Those need a paid plan. The rest work on every plan.

Appearance

• Dark mode. Switches the editor and the screen around it between light and dark. Available on every plan.
• Font size. The size of the code in the editor, changed with the minus and plus buttons. Available on every plan.
• Editor theme. Pro. The colour scheme for your code, such as JDoodle Light, JDoodle Dark, GitHub or Dracula. Dark mode changes the whole screen; the theme changes how your code is coloured.

New projects

These decide what a project starts with when you make a new one. They do not change projects you already have.

• Language. Pro. The language a new project opens in, instead of the default.
• Version. Pro. The version of that language a new project starts with. Useful when you always work against one version.
• Interactive mode. Pro. Whether new projects let you type into the program while it runs, instead of reading input you set beforehand.

Editor

• Autocomplete. Pro. Suggests completions as you type. Worth turning off while teaching, so a class sees the whole line being typed, and on while you are working.

Saving

Changes take effect when you choose Save. Close leaves them as they were.
