AI
Turning AI off for students
An account on the Teacher plan can switch the assistant off for its students.
The setting
Go to Manage teams and open AI for students. One switch, Let students use JDoodle AI, covers everyone.
| Detail | How it works |
|---|---|
| Scope | Every student on the account, at once |
| Who can change | The account owner only. Admins can see it, not set it |
| Plan | Part of the Teacher plan |
| Timing | Applies straight away. There is no schedule |
There is no per-student setting.
Who it affects
- Students on your account. All of them.
- Teachers and admins. Not affected. You keep the assistant when you turn it off for students.
- Students on their own account. Not affected. The setting reaches only people on your account.
That last point matters before an assessment. A student who joined your account has it switched off; one sitting the same work from their own account does not.
What a student sees
The panel stays where it is and says the teacher has disabled AI. It does not disappear, so a student can see it was switched off on purpose.
On other plans
The screen explains where you stand instead of showing a switch that would not work. Students keep the assistant and their daily credits.
What next
The teachers path covers when you might want this, rather than how the setting behaves.
