AI
The chat page
The assistant also has a page of its own at /chat, separate from the panel beside the editor.
Use it when your question is not about a program you have open. Explaining a concept, comparing two approaches, or working out what to write before you start.
The difference from the editor panel
| Editor panel | Chat page | |
|---|---|---|
| Sees your code | Yes, the program you have open | No |
| Good for | This program, this error | Questions on their own |
| Where | Beside the editor | Its own page |
Both spend the same AI credits, and both need you to be signed in.
Your chats are kept
Chats you have had are listed beside the conversation, and Show chats and Hide chats control that list.
Each one has its own address, so you can return to a conversation later or send somebody a link to it.
Answered questions
Questions the assistant has answered publicly are collected on their own page, Questions answered by JDoodle AI.
You can open one as a chat and carry on from it, which is often quicker than asking the same thing again.
What next
Every question you ask, in the panel or on this page, spends AI credits.
