Sit an assessment

An assessment is work your teacher has set, with a window it is open in. You find it under Assessments, alongside anything else you have been given.

What the states mean

• Scheduled. Set for you, but not open yet. You can see it is coming and nothing more.
• Open now. You can start it.
• Paused. Your teacher has stopped it part way. Anything you submitted is kept, and it may open again.
• Closed. The window has passed.
• Submitted. You have handed it in.

Working through it

Choose Start when it is open. Questions come in the order your teacher set them, and you can move between them. You do not have to answer in sequence.

Programs run in the editor exactly as they do anywhere else, so you can try your code against your own input before you settle on an answer.

Your work is saved as you go. Saved appears when it has been, so you do not need to save anything yourself.

Submitting

Choose Submit my answers when you are done. Once submitted you cannot change your answers unless your teacher reopens the assessment, so it is worth one more look before you do.

You do not have to use all the time. Submitting early does nothing to your mark.

What next

What happens after you submit depends on how your teacher set it up. Some results appear straight away; some wait until everybody has finished.
